I was talking to a friend about the Chinavirus and how we thought that the amusement parks must not be very busy since they were only allowing like 50% occupancy in. That conversation took place on Sunday, Tuesday I bought our plane tickets and Friday we flew out of Charlotte to Orlando! Normally I like to plan a trip
We flew out of Charlotte to MCO on Friday night. If you have never flown with Spirit Airlines, know that they do not offer first class seating, instead they have like four rows that have larger seats that you can up pay for, so that's what we did. Wasn't great but it was still better than the back! We didn't get to Orlando until like 8pm so we Uber'd straight to the hotel to check in. After we saw our room, we walked down the street and grabbed dinner. Colt was pretty persistent after dinner, so we took a dip in the pool before bed.
We woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed and ready for fun. We got dressed in our matching Jurassic Park shirts and took to Island of Adventure. The only bad part of this whole trip was that we had to wear these damn democratic face mask, all day in the park, on rides, so stupid! As soon as we walked thru the many points of entry, we lucked up and found our first penny machine. Colt and I love going around and smashing some pennies for our collection. We decided to walk to the far end of the park first and work our way back to the entrance, so off to Harry Potter world we went. I must issue this disclaimer, prior to this day, neither Colt of I had ever seen one minute of any of the Harry Potter movies. With that being said, after we left HP world, we agreed that we would order the movies and watch them all! that place was neat! Next up was the Jurassic Park portion of the park. We got to meet the raptor Blue and take a picture and we found two more penny machines, SCORE!
Leaving there we went in the King Kong ride which was pretty neat as well.
The temperature was like 94 degrees and Colt was ready to cool off so, he rode the Dudley Do-Right Ripsaw Falls ride while I held onto all of our stuff and enjoyed an ice cold coke and snapped a picture of him. A quick pass thru Toon Lagoon and Marvel Island, Colt wasn't feeling too great after the torturous heat and who knows how many Coke slushies, so he decided to pass on the Hulk and Dr. Doom drop tower. We did a little shopping, found a couple more penny machines and made our way back to the hotel.
The last day. Our buddy Bobby was in town for work so he picked us up and we took him out to breakfast and a fantastic little place, I wish I could remember the name of it. It's about 15 minutes from MCO airport and they have sweet potato biscuits, if you know what it's called, email me. After breakfast Bobby dropped us off at the airport. It was really cool, we saw about 30 active military persons walking the airport with several carts of rifle cases. Colt thought that was super neat. We hung out at our gate and waited to board. Next stop, Charlotte!
