The Adventure Begins

The Adventure BeginsThe Adventure Begins

Ronnie parsons, jr.

Watch out! If Sgt. Slaughter from G.I Joe and Rambo some how had an illegitimate love child, that would be my brother! Growing up we didn't live in a neighborhood so there wasn't a lot of kids to play with. Everything we did, we did together and it was awesome. We still do so much together and have a very close relationship. Ronnie is 19 months older than I am so that helped a lot hanging out. Right after he graduated high school, he joined the US Marine Corps and left for Parris Island MCRD on Father's Day June 17, 2001. There were no immediate threats to our country during that time, it was just his dream to serve and did it. He was set to graduate from boot camp on September 14, which is pretty neat because it is our dad's birthday. As you know 3 days prior to his graduation, 9/11 happened and changed our lives forever. He graduated on time and went on to be assigned as an 0341, Mortarman. After training,  he was deployed on the 22nd MEU (Marine Expeditionary Unit) in 2004 to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom before another deployment sent him to Okinawa Japan. After completing his 4 year enlistment, he came home and began BLET training to become a police officer. He served 10 years with the Mt. Holly Police Department before transferring to the Gaston County Police Department where is still currently patrolling and is an active member of the Gaston County ERT team.

Like I said, this is one bad dude, who I would do anything for.

I love you big brother!
